Business ethics and conduct

Ethics and integrity are at the heart of business conduct and the Human Rights Policy.

Ethics is the cornerstone of corporate conduct is a strong moral commitment, as well as the principle of trust that is fundamental for the sustainable development of a company's business. This culture of integrity is naturally based on compliance with laws and regulations and, equally, on respect for values by each and every single collaborator.

One of the fundamental values of the SHINE AWARD is the Code of Ethics which replaced the Carta Etica, drafted in 1996; it establishes the fundamental principles that frame and guide the daily actions of a company in the luxury footwear sector. The Code creates a framework that all collaborators must adopt in their professional activities and in their relationships with all stakeholders – colleagues, customers, shareholders and business partners. It also defines the commitment to the environment and society in general, in which it is the company's intention to play a positive role as a socially responsible company.

The Supplier Charter of a company in the luxury footwear sector, in the Code of Ethics, clearly specifies what it expects from partners in terms of respect for human rights, fundamental freedoms and environmental protection.

Finally, the Code of Ethics reminds everyone of the existence of an alarm device which allows any collaborator, internal or external to the company, to report any failure to comply with the ethical principles of the Code.

Breaches of ethical principles can lead to disciplinary actions (for example warning letters, dismissal ...) or reforms of corporate governance processes and rules, and are assessed on a case-by-case basis based on the seriousness of the situation.
